MUMBAI: Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan said that he was grateful to his fans and film industry for the kind of support they gave to him during his tussle with the Tamil Nadu government over the release of his film 'Vishwaroopam'.
"I am overwhelmed and touched by the support of the fans," Kamal Haasan said.
Haasan was speaking to media ahead of the premiere of his film 'Vishwaroopam' in Mumbai on Thursday. Kamal Haasan also thanked media for its support on the 'Vishwaroopam' controversy.
Commenting on the ban imposed by the Tamil Nadu government on 'Vishwaroopam', the actor said that it was insulting not only for him only but for the nation also.
The actor said that he was not sorry for saying that he would leave India. "If this kind of controversy happens again, I will seriously consider leaving India," Kamal Haasan said.
On the issue of Muslims opposing his film, Haasan said that he has got a huge support from the Muslim community but admitted that there will always be a difference of opinion.
