NAGPUR: Former president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Nitin Gadkari, believes that improvement in the legislature of the country will go a long way in solving many important issues the country is facing.
He also said it was necessary to give rewards and punishments, in such a way that both encourage public representatives to do good work.
Gadkari was addressing the audience during the annual convention of the Maharashtra State Druggists and Chemists Association in the city.
Speaking about the dismal healthcare services of the country, the BJP strongman also spoke about the need to tap the immense export potential of the Indian pharmaceutical industry.
"Most of the problems in our country arise due to complications in the legislature. If we had a system that could provide transparent, time bound and result-oriented legislature, many of these problems will be solved instantly. It is the need of the hour to work in this direction as a society," said Gadkari.
He also expressed unhappiness about the situation where those doing good work are being stopped by corrupt people surrounding them, instead of being rewarded for their efforts. Meanwhile, those doing bad things are not punished for their wrong deeds, thus encouraging others to follow their example.
